Bio:

Coach Sawyer is the Junior Varsity coach for the South High Bison Boys Basketball program
Coach Sawyer has been coaching for 27 years 
Coach Sawyer has coached at Johnson Jr. High School and Chugwater High School (was the head coach when Chugwater won the 1A State Championship in 2002)
Coach Sawyer will be starting his first year coaching at South High School
Coach Sawyer played at Burns High School where he competed in basketball, football and track and field. 
Why he wanted to become a coach? “I have been involved with coaching since I was very young. My dad, Ron Sawyer, is my greatest mentor and he was a successful head coach that won state championships at Burns High School. My brother, Gregg, was a phenomenal athlete that played hoops and ran track for the University of Wyoming.”

Coach Sawyer also currently coaches Football, girls basketball and track at Johnson Jr. High School

Coach Sawyer has coached volleyball and cross country as well
What does he like about coaching? “The thrill of victory and watching young student-athletes work as a team and reach their full potential. There is NO job more rewarding than being a teacher and a coach.”
His favorite sports are basketball & basketball, and then basketball
His favorite professional sports team is the Denver Broncos
His favorite sports movie is “Hoosiers”
When he isn’t coaching he likes to golf
His overall goal: Number one goal right now is to watch South High School hang a state championship banner for boys basketball in the future
